What are the different types of adult braces?

Clear braces

If you prefer a more subtle look, Montclair Orthodontics offers Clarity™ clear braces, which do the same job as traditional metal braces but are not as noticeable when you smile. 

Mini-diamond braces

Mini-diamond braces are noticeably smaller than traditional metal braces and are very comfortable, yet highly efficient. 

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are like traditional braces, but Dr. Watts places them on the back surface of your teeth rather than the front. Therefore, they’re not noticeable to other people when you smile. 

Self-ligating braces

Montclair Orthodontics offers self-ligating braces for adults, which are similar to traditional metal braces. However, self-ligating braces have a built-in system that holds the archwire in place instead of requiring tiny elastic bands.

Invisalign®

Invisalign uses clear aligners to straighten your teeth without metal brackets. And, you can remove the aligners to eat and brush your teeth. However, you must remember to wear them as instructed, keep them clean, and switch to another set of aligners in your series every week or two. 

Is a retainer required after adult braces?

Wearing a fixed or removable retainer after completing orthodontic treatment is critical to maintaining your perfect smile long-term. Montclair Orthodontics will have the right retainer made for you to guarantee your new smile stays perfect.

How long will I have to wear adult braces?
